One of my favorite quotes comes from Ralph Waldo Emerson: "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." These powerful words have served as a constant source of inspiration. As a child, so many limitations were placed upon me.
However, amidst these limitations, there were those - teachers, coaches and clergy - who recognized my potential. They sought to unearth it. And in that awakening, they evoked a desire within me to explore all of my potential, to not waste it, but to share it with others.
Deep within each and every one of us are gifts and talents that are to be unleashed on this world.
It is not okay for us to accept limits that others place upon us, including us!
We are limitless.
When we respect ourselves enough to realize that we are worthy, that we are capable, that we have the strength and courage within ourselves, that we are beautiful, that we are enough, we then become synergistic, in full alignment with our purpose and passion in life. While people may not remember what you say to them, they will remember how you made them feel. Choose to make them feel special. That one act of kindness can change the world we live in for the better. This is my quest. Because others believed in me, encouraged me, saw my full potential, I believe it is my duty, and honor, to be and do the same.
